Alice Wong’s Disability Visibility Project

I am so excited to share with you the episode we did with Matt Pierri on the topic of disability this coming weekend. As much as I'd like to believe that my understanding of social issues was somewhat adequate, the conversation with Matt made me realise that I too had been committing similar mistakes to people I'd labelled as intolerant and ignorant. Representation, stereotyping and inclusion are all topics we've addressed before on this platform, but for whatever reason, I never connected these issues to the disabled community, a mistake I heavily regret.

Alice Wong's Disability Visibility project is an amazing resource full of heartwarming stories and interesting perspectives - a great place to start learning about disability culture. If you're a new listener or have been somewhat distant from the pod, I would highly recommend tuning into this episode because I'm confident that much like me, your perspective and understanding of disabilities will change for the better.
