The continued story of Avatar: The Last Airbender
Few things have made me as excited over the last year than the formal announcement that Avatar Studios would soon grace us with their very own cinematic universe.
Avatar Kyoshi's story? Bumi's adventures during his army days? Aang's later years? The possibilities are simply endless. If you've listened to our recent episode, you'll know that Isabella and I love Avatar immensely. Its ability to tell stories that explore a fantasy world but somehow remain grounded in the real world is second to none. How does a cartoon make you laugh through Sokka's antics, but also vividly display the terror that war inflicts in a single episode?
I think my dream series however would be one about Iroh's youth. We can all agree that Uncle Iroh's segment during Tales of Ba Sing Se was the most heartbreaking thing we witnessed in our early years (and even now tbh). A multi episode series depicting his transition from a sociopathic general in the fire nation army to the loving wise man we all love, would probably complete my life.
The show's longevity is well deserved and I can't wait to see what magic comes out of Avatar studios.
